Job Title Code: CNA FLSA: Nonexempt Position Purpose: At River City Rehab, we are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct care to our residents. As a CNA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to ensure the highest level of care and comfort for our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to provide personal care and daily living assistance to our residents, including bathing, dressing, and feeding. You will also be responsible for checking vital signs, monitoring resident needs, and reporting any concerns to the nurse. In addition, you will work effectively as a team member to deliver care and assist in the orientation of new employees. Essential Job Functions:
  • Provides personal care and daily living assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Checks vital signs and monitors resident needs.
  • Reports any concerns to the nurse.
  • Works effectively as a team member to deliver care and assist in the orientation of new employees.
Other Job Functions:
  • May perform additional and specialized tasks with specialized training and written approval.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of therapy methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Skills to observe resident condition.

  • Must be stress-tolerant, self-motivated, cooperative, team-oriented, and dependable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Demands/Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Stand, traverse, ascend/descend stairs, move/transport carts weighing over 100 pounds, transport tools/equipment, grasp and manipulate tools/equipment to set up.
  • Move resident as necessary, stretch, bend, stoop, squat, twist, crouch, kneel, and balance to access all resident body parts, observe skin color, detect vital signs and equipment alarms/messages.
  • Operate computer, read, remain in a stationary position, converse with others.
  • Legibly complete forms; perform data entry of information. Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Converse with others, write legibly, read and comprehend written/verbal information. Communicate instructions or demonstrate tasks.
  • Lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently; up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Stand and walk frequently, sit for extended periods; simple grasp; fine hand manipulation; near vision; far vision; hear conversation; speak.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Experience performing the essential functions of the position is desirable.
  • Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing is required.
  • Candidates are required to attain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days after hire.
