Procurement Strategy Lead for Medical-Surgical Supplies

**Job Summary**
The University Hospital, Newark, NJ, seeks a skilled Procurement Strategy Lead for Medical-Surgical Supplies to oversee the procurement of essential medical-surgical supplies/equipment in a cost-effective manner, supporting patient care needs.
This role involves supervising staff to ensure the efficient operation of procurement processes and overseeing the hospital's materials management inventory system to maintain adequate supply levels at all times.
**Responsibilities**
Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to minimize costs and optimize supply chain operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance procurement efficiency.
Supervise staff to ensure they are aware of and adhere to procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
Oversee the hospital's materials management inventory system to ensure timely and accurate ordering of medical-surgical supplies and equipment.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
We seek a highly motivated and organized individual with a Bachelor's Degree and one year of experience in a supervisor or lead capacity, preferably in Materials Management, purchasing, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in Purchasing Systems, such as Marketplace, and knowledge of Banner is a plus. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency and project management skills are also essential.
The successful candidate will be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
**Salary and Benefits**
The salary for this role is estimated to be around $85,000 per year, based on national averages for similar positions in the Newark, NJ area.
