Job Overview

The Sales Manager role at Surge Staffing is a dynamic opportunity for a results-driven professional to drive business growth and revenue expansion in a specific geographic area.

This position involves developing and implementing sales strategies to identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities, as well as managing existing client relationships to achieve consistent profit results.

As a Sales Manager, you will work closely with field management to plan, conduct, and follow up on sales activities, leveraging your expertise in consultative sales approaches, cold calling, and sales solution-oriented techniques to drive sales closure and meet sales goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing account sales plans and strategies with Manager on a minimum of 30 target accounts
  • Identifying prospects and developing sales strategies to secure new business, including sales calls, competitive analysis, and coordination of presentations and proposals
  • Conducting prospect, active, and inactive account sales calls independently and jointly with branch office staff and management
  • Partnering with branch office and Headquarters staff to enhance and supplement product knowledge needed to close sales
  • Supporting sales closure to shorten sales cycles and ensure sales goals and objectives are met
  • Analyzing prospect requirements and needs to understand how Company products and services can be applied to meet these needs and resolve problems
  • Establishing contacts in the business community through active participation in local networking events to increase brand recognition and awareness
  • Recording all business and sales activity in Company database and completing required activity reports
  • Responding quickly to all customer and prospect inquiries and needs

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous business development experience
  • At least 3 years proven outside direct sales experience, including developing sales strategies, consultative sales approaches, and cold calling
  • Ability to understand and accurately apply a fast-paced, highly competitive, deadline-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet
  • Ability to travel to various locations, including customer sites and other company offices
  • Strong leadership skills, initiative, and creativity with the ability to identify and convey successful techniques
  • Ability to work with other team members as well as independently
  • Ability to shift back and forth between two or more tasks
  • Cooperative, team-oriented, patient, and calm under pressure
  • Ability to produce results within an autonomous environment, within company guidelines, and have the flexibility to identify and respond to changes in priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to all clients
  • Ability to advise, counsel, guide, and influence the opinions and decisions of others
  • Familiarity with the surrounding area
