Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cook to join our culinary team at Jackson Creek Senior Living. As a Senior Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals for our residents, ensuring that they are nutritious, appetizing, and presented in a visually appealing manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals in large quantities, adhering to established recipes and menu plans.
  • Ensure that all food is handled, stored, and served in accordance with state health department regulations and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Estimate and prepare food quantities to meet the needs of our residents, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, supplies, and inventory levels.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility or senior living community preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and supplies, as well as stand for long periods of time.
