Are you interested in supporting local disaster responses from the comfort of your own home?

The American Red Cross in Eastern New York is seeking a Disaster Cycle Services Duty Officer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with local authorities to provide critical communications support.
  • Dispatch and support Red Cross disaster responders.
  • Process requests from local authorities and determine if Red Cross action is warranted.

Requirements:

  • Reside in Eastern NY.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Access to smartphone, computer, and internet with ability to send/receive text messages.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Commitment:

  • Customizable on-call shifts of 4-6 hours per month.
  • Ability to respond to events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Comfortable working with new technology.
