Job Description

ASC Treatment Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Mental Health Transportation Driver. This position involves transporting individuals with mental health challenges to and from appointments, treatment facilities, and other locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport individuals with mental health challenges to various destinations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with passengers.
  • Ensure the safety and security of passengers at all times during transit.
  • Follow established routes and schedules, while also being flexible to accommodate any changes or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle, including performing routine inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members to provide updates on schedules, delays, or any passenger-related concerns.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with mental health issues.
  • Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in accordance with regulations and organizational policies.
  • Provide assistance to passengers as needed, which may include helping with mobility, navigating locations, or offering support during transit.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in transportation services, particularly working with individuals with mental health challenges, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Compassion, empathy, and patience when dealing with passengers.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to transportation services.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy guidelines related to mental health services.

Working Conditions:

This position may involve irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The job may require driving in various weather conditions and traffic situations. The driver will be expected to maintain a clean and safe vehicle environment at all times.
