Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team. As a Paramedic, you will provide emergency treatment and care to patients in critical situations, utilizing your advanced life support skills to stabilize and transport patients to the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and stabilize patients in emergency situations
  • Provide advanced life support, including cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and fluid/drug administration
  • Transport patients and specimens to and from the Emergency Department
  • Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, and other medical procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program
  • Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of start date in the Emergency Department
Preferred Qualifications
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification
  • One year of experience as an EMT-P
Physical Requirements

This role requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination, and extensive standing and walking.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
