Job Description

The Iron Casting Finishing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the production of high-quality iron castings. This position involves working with precision equipment to smooth and grind iron castings, meeting strict ISO quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures personal safety and the safety of team members, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Assists supervisors in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Operates high-speed grinders to finish ductile iron castings according to design specifications.
  • Measures and marks equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
  • Maintains awareness of hot and vibrating parts, taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents.
  • Records problems that occurred, such as downtime, and actions taken to resolve them.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisors, contributing to the overall success of the production team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two-digit numbers and perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear, reach with hands and arms, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.
