Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Emergency Room FSED coordinates and delivers high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with established nursing models. As a key member of the care team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients. You will also meet the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED) and manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and improve the quality of patient care through participation in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
  • Routinely perform venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests.
  • Provide triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment.
  • Assume responsibility for charging the department as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care that address the unique needs and goals of each patient.

Requirements

  • Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • One year experience in Emergency Services (ED).
