Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist Coach to join our team at Durham Public Schools. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of speech-language services for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to new and experienced Speech Language Pathologists, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement professional development opportunities for Speech Language Pathologists, including training and coaching on best practices and clinical competence.
  • Collaborate with Lead Speech Language Pathologists to plan and execute departmental needs, including workload management and written documentation.
  • Facilitate Speech Language Pathologist trainings and small group Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to promote knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Stay up-to-date on federal law, state policies, and local processes related to speech-language services, and ensure compliance in all aspects of the role.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology)
  • Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist
  • At least 3 years of experience in Durham Public Schools
  • Experience and expertise in informal and formal PK-12 communication assessments and service delivery for various populations
