Job Title: CDL Route Driver

We are seeking a highly skilled CDL Route Driver to join our team at Waste Connections in Vancouver, WA.

Job Summary:

The CDL Route Driver will be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement, a clean driving record, and basic knowledge of truck components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Ability to read an electronic route tablet and service each customer identified on the route or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Ability to operate hydraulic lift (from inside the cab) to service 700+ garbage carts and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
  • Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

The CDL Route Driver will work in a fast-paced environment with extensive physical activity. The job requires strenuous physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds many times throughout an 8+ hour shift.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
  • Clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete DOT pre- and post-trip inspections.
