About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Therapeutic Area Biomarker Lead to join our team at Novartis Group Companies. As a key member of our biomarker development team, you will be responsible for leading a matrixed team of scientific experts to define and execute the biomarker strategy and plan for a portfolio of therapeutic areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the biomarker strategy and plan for a portfolio of therapeutic areas
- Lead a matrixed team of scientific experts to define and execute the biomarker strategy and plan
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of the biomarker strategy and plan
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including therapeutic area leads, clinical development teams, and external partners
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in biomarker research and development, and apply this knowledge to inform the biomarker strategy and plan
- Provide scientific expertise and leadership to the biomarker development team
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the therapeutic area and the biomarker strategy and plan
- Collaborate with the therapeutic area lead to develop and execute the therapeutic area strategy and plan
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the biomarker development process and the regulatory requirements for biomarker development
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in biomarker regulatory requirements and apply this knowledge to inform the biomarker strategy and plan
Requirements:
- PhD or MD/PhD degree in a relevant field, such as biology, chemistry, or pharmacology
- At least 3-5 years of experience in biomarker development, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company
- Strong scientific expertise and leadership skills, with the ability to develop and execute a biomarker strategy and plan
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in biomarker research and development, and apply this knowledge to inform the biomarker strategy and plan
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including therapeutic area leads, clinical development teams, and external partners
