Overview of the Role
AESC US is a world-leading manufacturer of EV batteries with a presence in China, Japan, France, Spain, the UK, and the US. We are seeking an experienced CAPITAL EXPENDITURE PROCUREMENT STRATEGIST to work on large-scale engineering procurement construction projects in the US.
The ideal candidate will have strong cross-functional working relationships with industrialization teams, finance, supply chain, and other internal stakeholders. This role requires exceptional interpersonal, communication, and writing skills to interact with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy Development: Establish a procurement strategy for construction services, engineering, and materials based on the project's construction plan in reverse order.
- Market Sourcing and Vendor Management: Continuously source the best products and services for the business at reasonable prices, manage vendor contracts, and track vendor payments.
- Contract Negotiation and Execution: Create and execute the procurement strategy, organize bidding and tendering, and renegotiate business plans based on project adjustments.
- SAP Management: Utilize SAP to manage PO/PR requirements based on output from the above activities.
- Cost-Saving Solutions: Proactively identify cost-saving solutions to enable company industrial development.
- Global Supplier Partnerships: Partner with suppliers and vendors globally to identify strategies for scaling second product development.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate and support global plant launch equipment and global direct material-related project issues.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or supply chain preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of proven success in procurement/contract management, preferably in MEP/CSA, construction, or facilities space of large industrial construction projects ($100 million USD+ capex).
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint), Power BI, and SAP.
- Strategic Sourcing and Cost Analysis: Experience in strategic sourcing, cost analyses, and contract negotiations in CAPEX.
- Project Controls and Construction Management: Experience in project controls or construction management is preferred.
- Industry Experience: Experience in semi-conductor, battery, construction, or automotive industry is highly desirable.
- Communication and Training: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, with experience in training and mentoring peers on best practices for project management and execution.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000, depending on qualifications and experience. AESC US offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read, write, speak, hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and lift with hands and arms frequently throughout the day.
- Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 35 pounds.
