Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Inspector - Level 2 is an intermediate-level role, capable of performing all duties of a Quality Inspector - Level 1, while also possessing the ability to interpret complex blueprints and engineering documentation. This position requires advanced knowledge of manual tools and encompasses a broad range of inspection activities, including the evaluation of machined components, assemblies, raw materials, heat treatment, and external processing.

Shift:

Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11pm

Reporting Relationships:

The Quality Assurance Inspector - Level 2 reports directly to the Quality Inspection Supervisor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections on fastener installations, sealants, raw materials, simple machined parts, sheet metal components, bushings, bearings, and standards, as well as simple assemblies and external processing (NDT, finishes, coatings, thermal processing, etc.).
• Prepare and document First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
• Record non-conformances.
• Occasionally undertake special projects.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Certification capability in Hardness and Eddy Current testing, sealant application, bushing and bearing installation, electrical bonding, and fastener installation.
• Proficient in basic computer skills.
• Experienced in interpreting complex blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Ability to apply shop math skills, including trigonometry, and perform calculations for dimensions and setups.
• Basic understanding of Business Quality Management System (BWMS) processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with machine shop and aerospace assembly terminology.
• Completion of certification/evaluation in bushing and bearing installation.
• Fully skilled in using both basic and advanced manual inspection tools.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Capable of understanding technical and engineering materials and communicating effectively with colleagues.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain a positive focus and a dedicated approach to responsibilities and goals.

Level of Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
