We are a not for profit agency that supports individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities in residential settings along the shoreline.
**Salary Information:** The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $40,000 - $60,000 based on location and industry standards.
**Job Description:** As a Lead Direct Support Professional, you will assist individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. You will lead the other direct care staff on how to complete tasks and ensure proper care of individuals.
This role is located in Branford, CT and requires a valid Driver's license with a clean driving record.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule doctor appointments and medical follow-ups
- Order medications and medical supplies
- Work closely with the nurse to provide quality care
- Assist the Program Manager with the staff schedule and recreation calendar
- Train new hires and provide guidance to existing staff
**Requirements:**
A minimum of one year of experience working with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is also necessary. DDS Medication Certification must be valid and current at time of application.
Additional Requirements:
- Working knowledge of ADL skills (i.e. banking, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, money management)
- Experience supervising or training other staff is a plus
