In this role, you will be responsible for supporting three manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Your primary focus will be on recruiting and onboarding hourly employees while also providing administrative support. You will work closely with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies and ensure a smooth transition for new hires.

The Human Resources Representative plays a vital role in maintaining employee records and ensuring adherence to company policies and government regulations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. You will be responsible for coordinating various HR activities, including performance appraisals, personnel requisitions, job descriptions, and leaves of absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the administrative aspects of human resource activities
  • Sources and screens candidates for hiring managers
  • Plans and implements new hire employee orientation process
  • Monitors employee turnover and develops programs to reduce it
  • Supports hourly employee training and maintains training records
  • Serves as the plant's FMLA coordinator
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Business. Previous work experience in a related field is preferred, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of recruiting, employee orientation, and human resource matters. Solid working knowledge of PC applications, including Microsoft Office, is essential.

A strong appreciation for retention and management of confidential information is crucial. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple requests simultaneously, and meet deadlines are necessary. Strong listening, evaluating, and problem-solving skills, along with a solid understanding of current federal and state laws and regulations relating to employment, are required.

This hybrid position involves working from home approximately 50% of the time and in plants 50% of the time. You must be able to travel to Company locations in Minneapolis, MN, Golden Valley, MN, and Marshfield, WI.

Benefits and Compensation

Packaging Corporation of America offers competitive salaries and benefits packages to its employees. The estimated salary for this position ranges from $55,000 to $70,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
