About This Role

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is seeking a highly skilled Rangeland Extension Expert to develop an innovative extension program in Range Management, focusing on enhancing the profitability, sustainability, and ecosystem services of Kansas' vast grasslands.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an integrated extension and applied research program to generate and deliver information on invasive species management, prescribed burning, and grazing management on rangeland and perennial tame pasture.
  • Collaborate with research and extension faculty across Kansas and participate in multi-disciplinary initiatives, cooperating with organizations and agencies to achieve common goals.
  • Train and support professional development of agricultural and natural resources extension agents.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in range science, range ecology, wildland management, or related field, with extensive experience in rangeland management.
  • Commitment to extension education at the university level and supporting the Kansas livestock industry.
  • Proven ability to publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and strong potential for securing extramural funding.
