About the Role

As an Oncology Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients with various types of cancer. Your primary goal will be to ensure that patients receive high-quality care that meets their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with various types of cancer, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing various medical procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient, taking into account their medical history, current health status, and personal preferences.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers, to ensure seamless and effective care coordination.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing education and support to help them understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care, including progress notes, medication lists, and test results.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of South Dakota or eligibility for licensure.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing, preferably in a hospital or outpatient setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), if applicable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
