Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team at Baltimore County. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our attorneys, assisting with litigation, operational, transactional, and administrative matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, filing, and service of pleadings
  • Conduct client interviews and maintain general contact with clients
  • Draft correspondence and pleadings, including complaints, subpoenas, interrogatories, deposition notices, pretrial orders, and legal briefs
  • Investigate factual evidence of cases and prepare exhibits, charts, and diagrams to display information
  • Summarize deposition and trial transcripts and exhibits
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including briefs, memoranda of law, contracts, deeds, and legislation
  • Obtain non-legal documents as necessary to assist attorneys
  • Prepare records for civil appeals
  • Determine, prepare, and organize material needed for expert witness review
  • Assist with trial preparation, including the assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and appendices for depositions and court filings
Requirements
  • Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
  • Strong understanding of computer applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and imaging
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate and work as part of a team
  • Ability to manage complex relationships with all stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience or training with ESI tools and general knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources (preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
