Patient Care Technician Job Summary
Health Systems Management is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our dialysis team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will work under the guidance of RNs to provide dialysis treatment to multiple patients at a time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate hemodialysis machines
- Greet patients, collect vital signs, and report any concerns to the lead nurse
- Assist with vascular access preparation and cannulation
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and conduct appropriate interventions
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, including assisting with personal care needs and activities of daily living
- Respond to emergency situations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Basic computer knowledge required
- Healthcare experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work long hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) exam within 18 months of employment
