Mental Health Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Aide to join our team at Laurel Heights Hospital. As a Mental Health Aide, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and support to children and adolescents with autism and other behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care and support to children and adolescents with autism and other behavioral health needs.
- Assist with daily living skills, such as personal hygiene and appearance, and provide guidance and assistance as needed.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient health and medical issues to supervisors.
- Work closely with the clinical team to ensure a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Assist with educational and recreational activities, and provide support to individuals with autism and other behavioral health needs.
- Perform Q15 observation rounds and maintain accurate records.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; BA or BS degree in a related mental health field preferred.
- Previous experience working with behavioral health patients, children, adolescents, and/or special needs population strongly preferred.
- CPR certification and age-specific training required within 90 days of employment.
