Job Summary:

KA Recruiting Inc. is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing laboratory tests and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialized specimen collection, processing, and testing procedures with supervision as appropriate.
  • Conduct quality control and instrument check procedures and maintain related records.
  • Analyze materials derived from cultures and identify types of bacterial colonies found by determination of cultural requirements and biochemical reactions in chemically-defined media.
  • Group or type blood of donors and recipients.
  • Count, describe morphology of, and perform studies on blood and other body fluid cells.
  • Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination and perform special stains as directed by the pathologist.

Requirements:

  • High School or G.E.D. required, completion of MLT program; certification eligible.
  • Associate's Degree in a MLT program preferred.
  • MLT(ASCP) or HT(ASCP) certification required within one year of date of employment.
