Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook, Full-time to join our culinary team at Spaulding Hospital-Boston & Cambridge (SRN, SRH, SHC). As a key member of our food service team, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving delicious meals to our patients, cafeteria customers, and special functions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Review menu and food production sheets to determine meal preparation requirements.
  • Assist with menu planning to meet volume demands, marketing conditions, and customer needs.
  • Prepare and cook food according to established standards.
  • Collaborate with the Chef to prepare modified diets.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleaning.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in hospital, institutional, and/or restaurant hot and cold food preparation preferred.
  • Certified Food Safety and Food Allergy training required for First Cook; preferred for Cook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Attention to detail.
