About This Role

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Tech to join our team as a PRN (as needed) Radiology Imaging Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explaining Procedures to Patients: Ensure patients understand the process by explaining procedures in a clear and concise manner.
  • Patient Transport and Verification: Safely transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying their identity according to established policies and procedures.
  • Preparing Patients for Exams: Assist technologists with positioning patients for radiology exams, ensuring they are prepared for the procedure.
  • Filing and Delivering Reports: File, deliver, and retrieve patient reports and charts, matching films to folders and delivering reports to patient units and physicians.
  • Radiation Safety: Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, preventing unnecessary exposure to patients.
  • Contrast Media Administration: Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the scope of practice and applicable regulations.
  • Monitoring Protocols: Observe patients during procedures, report abnormal activity, and monitor protocols to recommend updates or refinements.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP), Radiographer (Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services), and ARRT-R Radiography.
  • Education: Completion of a radiology certification program.
  • Experience: No experience required.
Working Conditions

This role requires constant standing and walking, frequent use of vision and depth perception, and occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Must work in a safe and alert manner.
