Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney

This role may have a corresponding compensation plan with commission and/or bonus earnings based on multiple factors.
Description:We seek experienced attorneys with civil litigation trial expertise to join our team at Liberty Mutual Insurance. As a staff trial attorney, you'll contribute to delivering exceptional legal services to customers worldwide while upholding policyholders' rights and positively impacting our business. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire legal process from investigation to trial prep and court proceedings, representing clients in depositions, site inspections, court hearings, trials, and negotiations.
- Develop appropriate legal strategies for all stages of litigation and share them with claims representatives and insured clients.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with claims representatives and clients, occasionally conducting training sessions for Legal, Claims, or other departments.
- Provide guidance and direction to junior attorneys, prepare and conduct training sessions, and collaborate with colleagues remotely.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of six years of successful experience as an attorney.
- Membership in the California Bar.
- Appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred.
- Talent for cultivating strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Aptitude for detail-oriented, analytical thinking.
- Persuasive oral and written communication skills.
- General knowledge of insurance law.
- Familiarity with the latest developments in the practice of law and related fields.
- Proficiency with technologies that reduce costs and facilitate the practice of law and remote work.
