Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Radiation Oncology Specialist to join our team. As a Radiation Oncology Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering radiation treatment to patients according to prescription, performing CT Simulation to optimize patient treatment position, and utilizing hospital and Radiation Oncology EMR systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Radiation Treatment Delivery: Deliver radiation treatment to patients according to prescription, ensuring accurate dosing and optimal patient outcomes.
- CT Simulation: Perform CT Simulation to optimize patient treatment position, taking into account anatomical considerations and radiation safety protocols.
- EMR System Utilization: Effectively utilize hospital and Radiation Oncology EMR systems to manage patient data, track treatment progress, and communicate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Patient Experience: Ensure positive patient experience through support and education, addressing concerns and providing clear instructions on treatment plans.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily morning QA on linear accelerators and CT simulator, ensuring equipment is functioning optimally and safely.
- On-Call Procedure: Participate in on-call procedure, responding promptly to after-hours emergencies and providing timely interventions.
- Scheduling: Schedule patients for simulation and treatment, coordinating with radiation therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow.
- Billing: Perform daily billing for treatment and simulation, accurately capturing charges and submitting claims in a timely manner.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas, adhering to radiation safety standards and regulations.
- Elekta Infinity Linear Accelerators: Proficiency in operating Elekta Infinity Linear Accelerators, including setup and calibration.
- Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerators: Experience with Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerators, including treatment planning and delivery.
- Elekta Unity MR Linear Accelerator: Familiarity with Elekta Unity MR Linear Accelerator, including imaging and treatment capabilities.
- AlignRT: Knowledge of AlignRT technology, including its applications in radiation therapy.
- Brachytherapy: Understanding of Brachytherapy principles and practices, including implantation and follow-up procedures.
- Philips Big Bore CT: Experience with Philips Big Bore CT scanners, including image acquisition and reconstruction.
- Mosaiq: Familiarity with Mosaiq software, including treatment planning and management.
- EPIC: Knowledge of EPIC electronic health record system, including patient data management and communication.
- High School Diploma: Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate Program in Radiation Therapy: Graduate of an approved program in Radiation Therapy, including coursework and clinical training.
- ARRT Certification: Current ARRT certification as a Registered Radiation Therapist (RRT).
- NJ State Licensure: New Jersey State licensure in Radiation Therapy, demonstrating compliance with state regulations and standards.
We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, designed to attract and retain top talent in the field. The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
