Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Southcoast Behavioral Health in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing medical and therapeutic care to our patients under the direction of nursing and clinical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive, and structured environment.
  • Complete patient observation rounds timely and ensure patient rooms are clean and uncluttered.
  • Assist with transferring, lifting, raising, or turning patients, and obtain vital signs, height, and weight as assigned.
  • Identify yourself to patients and visitors promptly and respond to patient requests quickly.
  • Engage with patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques to help manage patients' emotions, behavior, and participation in treatment.
  • Monitor behavioral improvements and reinforce these behaviors, reporting changes and responses to treatment to the team.
  • Reinforce skills patients learn from nurses, physicians, and therapists that promote improved physical and mental wellness.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education or training resulting in certification as a nursing assistant per state requirements required.
  • Previous experience in a behavioral health setting and knowledge of working with the population of the facility preferred.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or license, per state requirements.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
