Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Healthcare Professional to join our team as an Assistant Health Supervisor at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado camp property. As a key member of our health services team, you will provide daily, on-call, and weekly health services for all persons, working in tandem with the health supervisor to ensure the well-being of our campers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with health services, including daily health screenings, first aid, and emergency response.
  • Work under the direction of the health supervisor and wellness supervisor to provide health care for all persons within the camp program.
  • Participate in the communication and advice given to staff on accommodations to provide for special medical/health/wellness considerations.
  • Provide support in the routine and emergency health procedures in consultation with the health supervisor and executive camp director.
  • Assist in the cleanliness, organization, care, maintenance, and inventory of the health center & medication delivery room.
Requirements
  • Some college preferred or equivalent post-high school experience.
  • Minimum of a current certified nursing assistant (CNA) or equivalent work/certification experience.
  • Must have current OR willingness to obtain the following certifications: First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Mandated Reporter, Universal Standard Precautions, Medication Administration, WFA/WFR.
Working Environment

Camps are at altitudes of 8,000-9,500 feet. Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, extended overnight periods and extended work hours, up to 22 hours per day.

Required daily, frequent exposure to highly stimulating and loud environments. Program activities are carried out in the out-of-doors often in inclement weather.

Willing to be on-call at all times, for health, emergency purposes, camper supervision, and program implementation.

Required to live on-site in shared housing. (Staff living quarters are shared with other staff and/or campers).
