Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Operations Specialist oversees all aspects of maintenance operations at the Brewer DC, Main St., and Acuity facilities. This role involves scheduling and performing maintenance tasks, monitoring production demands, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational goals. The incumbent will also be responsible for controlling maintenance expenses, establishing mechanical integrity programs, and providing technical guidance to mechanical craftsmen.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on production equipment, building systems, and utilities, including lighting, HVAC, compressed air, hot and cold water systems, electrical, and other similar systems.
  • Conduct regular preventative and predictive equipment maintenance to ensure optimal reliability and uptime.
  • Maintain the integrity of facilities and operating equipment to guarantee safety requirements and reliable product delivery to customers.
  • Effectively utilize and maintain the preventative maintenance system, adhering to computer-based and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.
  • Lead or participate in root cause analysis for operational issues, identifying contributing causes for non-operating events and working to eliminate root causes for continuous improvement.
  • Closely collaborate with the manufacturing team to provide timely updates on important repair steps, parts ordered, and estimated completion times.
  • Oversee projects related to purchasing, installing, and making operational equipment necessary to meet production needs.
  • Schedule and monitor outside contractors to ensure timely completion and adherence to industry standards.
  • Perform occasional general labor duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial processes, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC/Automation is desired.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair/rebuild equipment to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support productivity enhancement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, including reading and interpreting documents like safety guidelines, blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and procedure guides.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Work Environment: Manufacturing Floor/Warehouse

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
