Perioperative Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Perioperative Registered Nurse in the PreOp PACU department at SCA Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery area.
Responsibilities- Assess patient's preoperative and postoperative status, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic stability.
- Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia plans of care, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
- Administer medications safely and correctly, utilizing the 8-rights of safe medication administration.
- Perform interventions to maintain patient's wound and tissue perfusion, as well as genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects, contributing to the advancement of our perioperative care.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
- One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
- Medical/surgical nursing experience.
- Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
- Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
- Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
