Job Summary

This position is responsible for operating CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiologic technology and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency
  • Prepare patients for procedures with a full explanation and document on appropriate worksheets
  • Interview patients for a complete medical history and review in-patient, ER, and out-patient EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history
  • Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if needed
  • Inform appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition
  • Assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies
  • Perform CT scanning and assist Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures
  • Report malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer
  • Maintain knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease
  • Adhere to hospital fire and safety procedures
  • Rotate shifts as required, including call back, holidays, and weekends
  • Adhere to the Atrium Health attendance policy by being punctual and taking measures to prevent absences
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • ARRT certification in Radiology, or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire
  • Current CPR certification
