The Cyclotron-Engineering Specialist is a critical role at SOFIE, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment in our PET radio pharmacy. This individual will be accountable for routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electro/mechanical equipment associated with manufacturing, including manipulator arms, lead-shielded hot cells, radiosynthesizers, and cyclotrons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on cyclotrons
  • Complete documentation related to maintenance activities
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities on a schedule determined by the Tech Services management team
  • Diagnostics and repair of electronic equipment, electro-pneumatic systems, high vacuum systems, deionized chilled water systems, and high voltage
  • Provide timely information to supervisors regarding equipment operation and status

This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have an associates degree in engineering technology or 2+ years experience working as an electro-mechanical technician. Military training/experience and knowledge of digital and analog circuitry are a plus.

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on location and experience. As a Cyclotron-Engineering Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility and contributing to the success of SOFIE's mission.
