Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team at the Santa Barbara Unified School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychological services to students, teachers, and parents, with a focus on promoting academic achievement, social-emotional well-being, and cultural responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and interpret psycho-educational assessments to identify students' strengths and needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support students with special needs
  • Provide counseling and consultation services to students, teachers, and parents to promote social-emotional learning and academic success
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to develop and implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other educational planning processes to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged in the educational process
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Educational or Clinical Psychology, including at least one year of internship under the supervision of a credentialed school psychologist
  • California Pupil Personnel Services credential authorizing school psychology
  • Experience working with English Learners and students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
Working Conditions

The School Psychologist will work primarily in an office setting, with occasional visits to classrooms and other school areas. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
