Job Description:

We are seeking a PRN Operating Room Circulator, Pediatric RN to join our Surgical Services team. This position is Per Diem (On-Call), Non-Exempt and benefits eligible. The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on years of experience and departmental equity.

The RN Operating Room provides nursing care to pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep patients safe during surgery. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of operating room experience, preferably in pediatric orthopedics surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a circulating or scrub nurse as assigned
  • Participates as a team member and assists in all activities of the Operating Room
  • Records and documents all information pertaining to patient care and procedures accurately and efficiently
  • Assists in helping the surgeon and anesthesiologist accomplish a plan of care for the patient
  • Selects and prepares surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies necessary for every surgical procedure
  • Plans, implements, documents, and evaluates nursing care to meet the patient's assessed needs
  • Assumes final responsibility and authority in the Operating Room when performing circulating nurse duties
  • Supervises and instructs other staff members in the Operating Room suite when necessary
  • Provides pre and post-surgical teaching and follow-up to patient/family, as well as psychological support as needed
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Assists with clean-up of rooms between cases

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of operating room experience preferred
  • Must have a BSN
  • Must have a current nursing license in the State of Hawaii
  • Must have a BLS certification at the time of hire
  • PALS certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment
  • CNOR certification is preferred
