Telemetry Technician

Job Summary

The Monitor Tech is responsible for continuously monitoring patients via telemetry of oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels and/or electrocardiogram (ECG) rhythm on patients from a remote workstation located in the TeleICU Clinical Operations Room (COR). This role requires effective communication with staff registered nurses (RNs) and utilization of TeleICU RNs as resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor patients via telemetry and communicate concerns to staff RNs
• Utilize TeleICU RNs as resources and escalate concerns as necessary
• Provide clerical support to TeleICU clinical staff workflows
• Assist and participate in the orientation of new Monitor Techs and nursing staff

Requirements

• Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Interpretation class with a score of at least 80%
• 1 year ECG monitoring experience managing patients on cardiac monitors in a telemetry, neurological, cardiac ICU, ICU, or TeleICU
• Ability to independently monitor a patient load of 35 patients and successfully pass competencies
