Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the Jackson Demonstration State Forest in Fort Bragg, CA.

You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to forestry and fire protection, including:

  • Assisting in the prevention and suppression of wildfires
  • Conducting forest surveys and assessments
  • Developing and implementing forest management plans
  • Collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders to achieve conservation goals

The incumbent will work in a fast-paced environment and be required to perform physically demanding duties, including working in isolated areas and remaining on duty for extended periods.

Working Conditions

The position requires the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and to wear respiratory protection equipment.

Special Requirements

  • The position requires a California Registered Professional Forester License.
  • The incumbent must be able to pass a medical evaluation to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment.
