Job Overview

An Elite Litigation Boutique Law Firm, a national firm with an exceptional reputation, seeks a skilled Finance Manager to join its team in Chicago, New York, or Washington, D.C.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, compensation, and budgeting within a mid-size organization. Experience with ProLaw, Aderant Expert Sierra, and Power BI is desired but not required.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $100K-140k, depending on qualifications and experience, with the potential for higher compensation for the right candidate.

Job Description

The Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Preparing monthly financial reports and communicating significant variances in a timely manner.
  • Executing changes to procedures, policies, and systems to reduce risk and help the firm scale.
  • Synthesizing, interpreting, and challenging data to develop meaningful insights that inform recommendations.
  • Maintaining and managing all accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR) transactions, controls, and accounting procedures.
  • Reviewing semi-monthly and monthly payroll files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Keeping financial files organized, up-to-date, and accessible for the COO, partners, auditors, etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A four-year degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of accounting/finance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior management/supervisory experience and at least 1-2 years of law firm experience.
  • Advanced skill level in Excel and the ability to rapidly adopt new tools and systems.
  • A track record of driving process improvement and driving efficiencies.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills, combined with the ability to manage competing priorities in a calm, collected manner.
