Job Title: Organ Recovery Coordinator

Sierra Donor Services, a designated organ procurement organization within the state of California and a member of the DCI Donor Services family, is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Organ Recovery Coordinator to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Organ Recovery Coordinator will play a critical role in facilitating the organ donation process, working closely with the clinical team to assess organ compatibility, expedite surgical and technical processes, and ensure the safe and timely transfer of organs for transplant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
  • Coordinate organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
  • Coordinate and assist in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics such as arranging transportation, ensuring surgical packaging, and preparing lab specimens for shipment.
  • Provide support to donor families and conduct medical/social history interviews.
  • Update donor information into electronic medical records.
Requirements:
  • Two plus years of prior experience in a critical care setting.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask.
  • Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Registered Nursing (RN) License.
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
