Job Summary

As a Certified Nursing Assistant at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Complete pertinent documents and maintain accurate records, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare patient rooms for admission by setting up IV poles and adjusting beds to the appropriate level, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Transport patients safely and securely, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to security protocols.
  • Clean, procure, and return equipment and supplies, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Run errands for the unit as required, ensuring timely completion of tasks and maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Assist licensed personnel in providing a safe and comfortable environment, replenishing patient rooms with water, linen, and towels as needed.
  • Perform unit-specific patient care tasks in accordance with the skills checklist and document on the flowsheet, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Identify and report obvious changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge, ensuring prompt and effective intervention.
  • Assist with the ordering and maintenance of stock items, adhering to established inventory protocols and guidelines.
  • Keep unit supplies organized and orderly, maintaining a clean and efficient environment.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members during and between shifts, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination.
  • Respond to phone calls and patient call lights, providing timely and effective support to patients and families.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • CNA License in state of employment required.
