Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our Resource Team - PRN. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support services in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and support services under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Assist with bathing, feeding, dressing, turning, and repositioning patients.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Collect and handle lab specimens as directed by nursing staff.
  • Utilize universal precautions when performing procedures involving blood or other body fluids.
  • Properly dispose of used sharps and biohazardous waste.
  • Abide by HIPAA regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
Requirements
  • Completion of a nurse assistant training program or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with healthcare team members.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification through the AHA or ARC.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience as a nurse assistant in an acute care setting.
  • Certification as a CNA in the State of Kansas.
  • Phlebotomy Technician PBT (ASCP) certification.
