Job Summary

This position is responsible for the maintenance and/or repair of a wide variety of specialized equipment in an assigned group of Speedway stores within a geographic area. Service calls are initiated from the store via work orders to the appropriate technician. The position reports to the Area Facilities Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responds to work orders for a wide variety of in-store equipment, including but not limited to, minor repairs of HVAC, minor repairs to refrigeration, hot beverage equipment, cold beverage equipment, fountain/backroom ice makers, hot food equipment, fuel dispensers, and other equipment.
  • Responds to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issues.
  • Responsible for replacing 'plug and play' equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for ordering and management of parts inventory on truck.
  • Completes preventative and basic maintenance tasks on structures and other equipment, including but not limited to, dispensers, point of sale, computers, security equipment, telephone and data lines, heating and air conditioning systems, refrigeration equipment, lighting, signs, and pumps as required.
  • Schedules and prioritizes duties and work assignments on a daily basis.
  • Completes required reports and paperwork daily to account for the time and use of parts and materials.
  • Observes and inspects equipment to determine if servicing or further action is required.
  • Reads, interprets, and follows procedures described in service manuals per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Calibrates pumps, dispensers, and other equipment in accordance with legal standards.
  • Recommends when an outside contractor is required to handle a maintenance problem.
  • Assists in the correction of other maintenance problems as directed by the Area Facilities Manager.
  • Attends training classes as required to learn maintenance procedures for specific equipment.
  • Works on outside equipment in a safe manner as required regardless of weather conditions.
  • Provides training to less experienced technicians as needed.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Provides equipment/system training and instruction to other technicians to ensure the safe/proper operation.
  • Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by management.
  • Complies with and follows all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week on an on-call emergency basis, in addition to a normal work schedule.
Requirements
  • High School/GED
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Must have more than one certification by manufacturer/government agency
  • Specific knowledge and skills, including leadership, peer-to-peer tech support, effective communication, project management, facility location ownership, ability to lead the team, and independent decision making and judgment.
