Senior Director of Cash Planning and Strategy

Ascend Elements is a pioneering company in the lithium-ion battery industry, revolutionizing the production of battery materials through a clean and sustainable supply chain. Our patented Hydro-to-Cathode technology directly synthesizes new cathode materials from spent lithium-ion cells, resulting in reduced costs, improved performance, and lower GHG emissions.
We are seeking a Senior Director of Cash Planning to lead our cash management strategies at our Westborough, MA location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for forecasting cash flow, developing strategies to optimize cash reserves, and ensuring liquidity for day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cash management policies to optimize cash flow performance.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend actions to improve cash flow performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize working capital and manage cash reserves efficiently.
- Monitor and manage banking relationships to maximize cash management services and minimize costs.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance returns on surplus cash.
- Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership on cash flow performance, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience as the primary person on cash planning in the specified industries.
- Proven experience in cash management, treasury operations, or financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and cash flow optimization strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a leadership role overseeing cash planning or treasury functions in Construction, Manufacturing, Specialty Chem, Battery materials, or Engineered materials.
