The University of Utah seeks a skilled Sponsored Projects Grants Management Specialist to support sponsored project activity. The successful candidate will draft and negotiate agreements with extramural partners, including industry, state and federal government, foundations and non-profits.

Job Summary:

The Sponsored Projects Grants Management Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures related to sponsored projects. This includes reviewing and approving proposals, negotiating agreements, and managing post-award activities.

About the Job:

This is a full-time position that requires strong analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in grants management, contract administration, or a related field. A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate agreements with extramural partners;
  • Review and approve proposals to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures;
  • Manage post-award activities, including financial reporting and compliance;
  • Collaborate with research administrators and faculty members to ensure smooth project execution;
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices related to grants management and contract administration;
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
