Job Description

Novant Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Charlotte market. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. This includes possessing expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique, as well as combining knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, and be a graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or have Military Training Equivalent. A minimum of two years of previous Surgical Technologist experience is required, and current Surgical Tech Certification through NBSTSA is necessary. New graduates must obtain certification within 12 months of hire, and ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing is essential.
