Enterprise Architect

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team at Perficient, Inc. This role is a remote opportunity with the candidate located within the United States or the United Kingdom and involves 15-20% travel.

The ideal candidate will design complex, large-scale systems and integrations using best practices and patterns, and guide the development and implementation of digital systems that support Card Payment Processing and Merchant Services.

• Provide architectural solutions/designs to product and developer teams for implementation.
• Provide technology architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for one or more technology domains.
• Work with application developers, users, operational leadership, and subject matter experts to understand current and future operational data analysis goals.
• Recommend modern technology stacks to meet those goals and help engineering teams migrate towards their use.
• Collaborate with the customer's product, operations, and technology leadership on the future analytic goals of the organization and design a technical architecture to meet those goals.
• Lead the architecture configuration and advise engineering teams on its efficient use.
• Help provide alternative solutions and guide product teams to an optimal fit from both an engineering effort and timely delivery to market.
• Work closely with stakeholders, including product owners, developers, and designers to ensure delivery of related products and services.
• Lead the technical planning & requirements gathering phases, including estimate, development, architect, and delivery.
• Act as a core Technical Team member, leading the design and development of software applications, ensuring they meet both functional and user experience requirements.
• Oversee code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Employ strong coding standards for efficiency, readability, and reuse.
• Guide an engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Utilize analytical, process, and/or technical skills to meet project objectives and deliverables that are self-directed and within project scope.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, software development, or a combination of both.
• Minimum of 5 years Payment's processing experience in Card Payments and/or Merchant Services.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex software solutions.
• Experience working with development frameworks and technologies is a plus.
• Strong understanding of security best practices and data governance principles.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Proficiency in relevant architecture modeling tools (e.g., UML, ArchiMate).
• Enterprise-level experience in composable/headless enterprise architectures and micro-services environments.
• 3-5+ years of proven expertise of managing and leading cross-functional matrixed teams.
• Ability to coach resources to elevate performance and drive results.
• Experience managing relationships, coalitions, and communications with senior and executive level business and technology leaders to influence desired outcomes without direct authority.
• Knowledge of a modern, cloud-based enterprise architecture best practices and patterns.
• Ability to understand how to navigate a complex organization, understand the big picture, and influence the enterprise to leverage technology in alignment with our strategies.
• Eager to deep dive into various areas of organizational, information, and technology architecture.
• At least 5 years of experience in technology consulting, enterprise, and solutions architecture, and architectural frameworks.
• Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent project from an architectural standpoint.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, C#, and Python.
• At least 3 years of experience with modern web frameworks such as React and/or Angular.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud-based serverless concepts and services running in AWS and/or Azure.
• Good understanding of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering).
• Experience with cloud-based big data platforms such as Snowflake, CosmosDB, and/or Azure Fabric would be considered a plus.
• Familiarity with enterprise development tools such as Azure Dev Ops and Jira.
• Experience with authoring, editing, and presenting technical documents.
• Experience in complete project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects.
• Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies.
• Proven track record of technical leadership roles delivering solutions within defined timeframes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality software products to large consumer markets.
• Skilled in building relationships with clients and in practice development activities.
• Demonstrated success in performing work and managing complex and/or large consulting projects.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure, and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $202,730.
