**Job Title:** Forensic Mental Health Professional

 

**About the Job:

Cynet Health is seeking a skilled Forensic Mental Health Professional to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing on-ward security functions for forensic patients or residents in secure-care areas of mental health institutions.

 

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-ward security functions for forensic patients or residents in secure-care areas of mental health institutions
  • Monitor safety and security through on-ward surveillance and escort patients to off-ward activities or appointments
  • Investigate patient misbehavior and observe patient behavior during meals
  • Intervene in crisis situations to prevent injury by applying restraints or assisting nursing staff
  • Monitor patients in seclusion and search clothing and living areas for dangerous objects or contraband
  • Prevent patient escapes
  • Offer direct care and treatment by assisting with personal hygiene, clothing care, room maintenance, and social dining programs
  • Monitor or assist patients in washing clothes and provide one-to-one sessions to discuss problems or concerns
  • Assist patients with meals, treatments, hygiene, and dressing if they are unable to do so independently
  • Lead recreational activities and aid in maintaining sanitary living conditions through housekeeping duties
  • Prepare reports and documentation regarding patient and unit activities, including progress notes, shift change, and incident reports
  • Attend in-service training programs and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Respond to patient needs in emergency situations like fires or disturbances

 

**Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or GED, and be able to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. You should also be prepared to work in an environment where you may be exposed to unpredictable patient behavior, communicable diseases, and unusual working conditions.

 

**Salary and Benefits:** The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Cynet Health offers competitive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and professional development opportunities.
