Our team at EXL is seeking a Business Risk Control Specialist to join our ranks in the Staten Island area. This role involves evaluating businesses to identify potential hazards and improve safety, ultimately mitigating risk for our insurance company clients.

Job Overview

This position requires excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and a commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards. As a Business Risk Control Specialist, you will work independently from your home or office, servicing onsite survey/inspection assignments in the Staten Island area and surrounding locations within approximately 20 miles.

You will be responsible for scheduling on-site surveys and providing risk control reports to insurance industry clients. These reports contain information necessary to underwrite a commercial insurance policy and may include recommendations to control and/or correct potential loss-producing conditions associated with that policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and conduct onsite surveys to assess business risks
  • Provide risk control reports to insurance industry clients
  • Manage assigned work and meet deadlines
  • Maintain high-quality work products and adhere to client expectations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, risk management, construction)
  • Experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim, loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with software applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in risk management or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
