Our work depends on Dev Ops Engineer joining our team to support USSOCOM at Fort Liberty, NC. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:As a DevOps Cloud Engineer; you will be responsible for distributed and managed services, automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services.  You will manage system tuning for reliability and efficiency and guide and manage software releases for new features and support users through consolidation. Occasionally performs the administrative operation of server hardware and software. Ensures system security and executes practices and procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications. Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Required Skills:8+ years of IT and/or software or related experience Bachelors Degree or 4+ years of equivalent experienceDOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred)Experience with KubernetesParticipated in or led agile development teamsIn depth understanding of Dev Ops methodologiesWorked with Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or other Continuous Integration toolsExperience in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-TExperience with networking and related technologies (e.g. load balancing / DNS / SSL / firewalls / NAT / SDN)Experienced in using GitExperience in release managementExperience supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practicesCompetent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activitiesExcellent communication and briefing skills; shows tact; effective listening skills and follow throughSolid worth ethic and the ability to work in a mission critical environmentDetail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of workProvides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experienceDesired Skills:Experience in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and OpenStackExperience with Kubernetes, Chef, Ansible, BOSH, or related automation / orchestration toolsExperience with a platform as a service product such as Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or similarExperience working with DNS, NTP, SAML, OAuth 2, Active DirectoryUnderstanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics (Prometheus, New Relic, AppDynamics, Cacti, Graphite, ELK, Nagios, Ganglia, Splunk, Log Insight, vRealize Operations, Datadog, etc.)Background in Windows deployment, automation, and related technologiesExperience with database (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL) and messaging middleware technologies (e.g. RabbitMQ)● Active TS/SCI Clearance● Location: On Site●US Citizenship RequiredGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:● 401K with company match● Comprehensive health and wellness packages● Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career● Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications● Cutting-edge technology you can learn from● Rest and recharge with paid vacation and holidaysThe likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
