DESCRIPTIONAlgro International LLC is one of the largest Rice processor and exporter in USA. We are looking to hire a Logistics Manager who is detailed oriented self-motivated team player, able to work across different departments, providing best in class service to our internal and external customer base. The Logistics Manager will work independently within broad guidelines, function effectively under constant time constraints and have the ability to work on a number of initiatives at once.Additionally, the position will monitor and coordinate daily activity of Logistics Planning and Coordination. This includes managing relationships with drayage companies to avoid demurrage fees, and recommending processes and concepts to improve efficiencies, cost savings and profitability.Logistics Planning and Coordination:Manage end-to-end logistics operations for imported ocean containers, ensuring timely and efficient movement from ports to customers or 3PL warehouses.Strategize and implement delivery schedules, tracking milestones from port discharge to final destination, while addressing any disruptions or delays.Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, drayage companies, and transportation providers to optimize logistics efficiency and avoid demurrage fees.Oversee compliance with import regulations, including FDA and US Customs requirements, and ensure all documentation, such as 7501 Customs entry summaries, is accurate and submitted timely.Audit and allocate freight costs, perform invoicing, and work with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies.Shipment Management:Monitor the daily activity of shipments arriving at designated ports, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with stakeholders.Coordinate the dispatch of shipments, including scheduling delivery appointments, confirming empty container returns, and resolving transportation-related issues.Optimize delivery routes and schedules to minimize costs and enhance service levels.Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment tracking systems, ensuring transparency for internal and external stakeholders.Vendor and Partner Management:Negotiate freight rates and terms with transportation providers, focusing on cost savings and service improvement.Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, customers, and external logistics partners to ensure seamless communication and execution of logistics plans.Analyze performance metrics of transportation providers and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Operational Efficiency and Problem Solving:Troubleshoot logistics challenges such as shipment delays, customs issues, and carrier availability, formulating solutions to minimize disruptions.Recommend and implement logistics process improvements to streamline operations, reduce costs, and increase profitability.Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.Technical and Analytical Skills:Interpret and analyze shipping documents, contracts, and logistics procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.Use advanced Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) to manage data, prepare reports, and improve operational visibility.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations and report findings to management, proposing strategies for optimization.Other Requirments:Language Skill: - Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
