Overview:
Under the supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, the Manager - Sports Medicine Outreach is responsible for the management and direction of Mercy's sports medicine outreach coworkers and relationships with community partners, contracting with Mercy to provide sports medicine services. The individual is a leader who inspires a shared vision, demonstrating the value of change and presenting to co-workers with enthusiasm. Manager models the way by setting professional standards, having a positive attitude and engaging co-workers to become leaders in change. They challenge the current process and enable others to promote change by providing support, mentorship and guidance to those who provide direct patient care. The individual will demonstrate professional development and responsibility and holds direct and indirect care providers accountable for their professional responsibilities and adherence to regulatory guidelines. Further, the individual will serve as a liaison with other medical practices in the community including, but not limited to, primary care, pediatrics, orthopedics, neurology, outpatient rehab and urgent cares. Formally and informally monitor coworker performance and lead annual performance reviews for those coworkers directly reporting to Manager. Maintains current knowledge of the sports medicine profession and the departments policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of athletic training from accredited college or university. Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in sports medicine required and previous leadership experience preferred.
- License: Licensed Athletic Trainer by the Board of Registration for the Healing Arts in the applicable state of practice.
- Certifications: Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer and Professional Rescuer CPR or equivalent.
